Total Time 30 minutes mins
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hamburger buns for serving
- Pickles optional, for topping
In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
Add ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns, top with pickles (optional), and serve immediately.
Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
Add a splash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
