- 2 large Vidalia onions thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives optional
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring frequently, for 20–25 minutes until caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Fold the cooled onions into the creamy base. Stir in chives if using. Adjust seasoning as needed.
