Chicken Karahi Recipe (Authentic Indian Style)

Ingredients
  

  • Chicken - 1 kg bone-in, thighs, or drumsticks
  • Tomatoes - 4 medium finely chopped
  • Ginger & Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp
  • Green Chilies - 3-4 slit
  • Whisked Yogurt - 1 cup

Spices

  • Ground Cumin - ½ tsp
  • Ground Coriander - ½ tsp
  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder - ½ tsp
  • Regular Red Chili Powder - ½ tsp
  • Black Pepper - ½ tsp
  • Cooking Oil - 5 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste

Garnish

  • Ginger julienne
  • Coriander Leaves chopped

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil, add green chilies, and sauté. Add chicken, sprinkle salt, and cook for 7-8 minutes.
  • Stir in ginger-garlic paste. Cook for a minute, then add chopped tomatoes. Cover and cook until soft.
  • Add roughly ground spices and cook until oil separates.
  • Stir in whisked yogurt and cook on high heat to reduce moisture.
  • Garnish with julienne-cut ginger, coriander, and slit chilies. Cover, rest for 5 minutes, and serve.
